Directed by Adeline Jeudy, Galerie L.J. (previously Galerie L.J Beaubourg) took up residence in the heart of the Marais in March 2009, leaving its former location in Beaubourg, 23 rue Renard (Paris 4th district) which it had occupied from its foundation in 2007.
We are developing a programme principally centered on the emerging French/European and American scene influenced by urban art, illustration, graphic work and other original and more traditional practices.
This selection, which on appearance seems heterogeneous, reveals our curiosity and varied interests. In addition to strong figurative inclinations, the gallery's programme equally introduces more conceptual and abstract artists and devotes a significant part of its work to supporting the young local scene.
Galerie L.J's new space in the third arrondissement consists of a surface of 60sqm2 on the ground floor, open to the street through a large bay window, and a basement of 83sqm2, both employed as exhibitory space. The gallery is situated in the very heart of the art plan of the Marais, close to many young and renowned galleries, contributing to the dynamism of the district.
